YouTube's goonieman86 is a god. Everyone who has spent any time with me knows that I LOVE Disney songs, so it's no surprise that I adore Nick Pitera's covers of songs like "A Whole New World" and "Part of Your World". The guy's voice is absolutely amazing; if you close your eyes, you can totally see a girl singing the girl parts. It helps that he has a very animated face; he looks like a real-life Disney Hercules. Or something. It's crazy.
The thing that bugs me though is the fact that he sings a LOT of girl songs. There are so many videos of him covering Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Leona Lewis, etc., and in every single one of them he sings in his fake girl voice. It's weird and a bit creepy. I mean, he still sounds fantastic, but I just wish he'd sing with his own voice. I don't know. It just kind of gives me the heebie jeebies.
Anyway, that's pretty much it. Check out his YouTube
here and his MySpace
here. =]
(I just watched his cover for David Archuleta's "Crush", and he is much much better at singing girl songs. Oh well, his cover for Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" was awesome so I still love him either way.)
